21 Warning Signs You Need More Information On Ink

Interesting Facts about Ink Toner Cartridges

Printers are an essential in today's technology driven world, so it is only logical that ink toner cartridges for those printers are just as essential too. It's difficult to imagine printing without the ease of ink toner cartridges, but they didn't hit the market until 1978. At the time, no one really knew how popular these cartridges would become. About ten years after the invention of ink toner cartridges, the technology of re-manufacturing the cartridges was introduced into the printing world. With this new technology, those with printers were able to save tons of money by recycling their ink toner cartridges.

Along with saving money, the fact that the larger cartridges were able to be recycled meant that there would be less landfills filled with empty cartridges. The invention of ink toner cartridge re-manufacturing was essential to the health of the earth; if a used ink toner cartridge got near an underground water system, it would pollute the entire area.

When figuring out the distinction between cartridges in a printer, it is important to note that ink toner cartridges are considerably larger than ink cartridges with no toner. Just because this is the main visible difference between ink cartridges and ink toner cartridges, does not mean that it is the only difference between the two. One of the largest, non-visible, examples of the difference between ink cartridges and ink toner cartridges is the way that they print ink onto paper.

A standard ink cartridge without toner contains an ink mixture that is sprayed on the paper when it is being printed. On the other hand, ink cartridges with toner contain a powder mixture that gets heated to extremely high temperatures and is then fused onto the paper when printed. To create that clean and crisp print from an ink toner cartridge, cartridges are manufactured with two electrodes that help bind the fibers. The difference between the two types of cartridges can be seen once the paper is printed; prints from standard ink cartridges often take time to dry while prints from an ink toner cartridge can be touched immediately after printing without any smudging.

Lucky for us, technology for ink toner cartridges has improved since they first were invented; the first ink toner cartridges were built into the printer and could not be removed. This means that essentially, the owner would need to buy an entire new printer once they ran out of ink. Thankfully technology has come a long way since then; not only are we able to replace just the cartridge, but they come in a variety of colors for any printing need.
